Academy Development announced today the hire of Sean Mulroony as its new Vice President of Land Acquisition & Development. The industry veteran will oversee Camillo Companies affiliate brand Academy Development, bringing nearly 25 years of experience to the position with a strong focus on land acquisition, finance, strategic management, and market research. 

“Sean’s expertise in contract negotiations, partnerships, and strategic land planning will play a key role in our continued growth and success,” Camillo Companies CEO Margaret Potter said. 

Mulroony joins Academy after working for Homebound, first as the company’s head of land acquisition and then as vice president of the land team. He has experience with other notable homebuilding companies, including Beazer Homes, Meritage Homes, and Highland Homes. Mulroony is a graduate of Ball State University and holds an MBA in finance from Arizona State University. 

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mulroony has served as a board member at the Greater Houston Builders Association and was a trainer for Habitat for Humanity, showcasing his commitment to both the industry and community. 

Since 1989, Academy Development has developed more than 100 communities for Camillo Companies affiliate brands Legend Homes (founded in 1991) and SimplyHome (founded in 2012). It is one of the largest private land development companies in Texas.
